Children across Britain enjoyed another day off school due to the chaotic weather conditions today. Following weeks off school for the Christmas holidays and hours glued to laptops and various other electronic gadgets received for Christmas, they received a welcome reprieve from school due to snow and ice. The Association of Head Masters called the closure of hundreds of schools in each county a shame but a necessity given the horrid conditions faced travelling to school by pupils up and down the country.
Ken Stott, National Union of Teachers (NUT) confirmed, "As and where possible schools are trying all they can to ensure they open as usual. Having said that the safety of our pupils is paramount under the recent circumstances. The cold spell hitting the country right now means that pupils will have to stay at home. We can only trust that parents are ensuring that their children will be spending their time constructively. One word of warning to all of the children from St David's Secondary School, Can they stop throwing yellow snowballs at my car when i pass them on the road. Remember I know where you all live."
Children on Merseyside took the opportunity to further their education by constructing a fine example of modern street art yesterday. Rumours have it that the Saatchi Gallery in London may be interested in purchasing the sculpture as a life like sculpture of the artist Damien Hirst.
