Woolworths Lolita Bed Makes Parents See Red.

A parenting website said it was in "unbelievably bad taste" to give the bed the same name as a novel about a sexually precocious young girl. Woolworths said the £395 Lolita Midsleeper Combi was withdrawn when the matter was brought to its attention. It is assumed that Woolworths felt that its regular customers are of such low intelligence that they would not be aware of the name and its connotations.

Sadly It isn’t the first time retailers have used such names or products to attract children. Woolworths have confirmed that they will look to re-brand the item. They have denied however, that they planned to introduce a new range of children’s Swimming attire in the summer called Paedo- Speedo’s for the under twelve’s.
